As a promoter, performer, and architect of the New England music scene over the past decade, Jay Giacoppo, a.k.a. DJ Melee, has cemented his reputation as a top US artist and DJ. Now, with his successful co-creation of the Monism Music imprint and the buzz of a successful 2009 Winter Music Conference propelling its back to back releases The Drop and ISTF up the Beatport charts, Melee is expanding beyond his role as the US tech-funk diplomat into a global juggernaut.

Always a glutton workhorse, Melee originally climbed the ladder to General Manager of Satellite Records Boston and Mass Music, while balancing his duties as promotions manager/resident DJ for the former award-winning Avalon Boston, and Regional Director for the Red Bull Music Academy, while maintaining a busy schedule of performances. For most this would be a full plate; for Melee, too much is never enough.

With a full schedule ahead, including the launch of his newest label Sturdy Recordings this summer,  remixes by himself and collaboration as Beat the System, and a label compilation in the works, the gravity surrounding Melee continues to draw laurels from every direction.
